About the artwork:
The quote translates to “the darkest moment happens just before the dawn.” Today, every action feels like a shout into the void. Perhaps the worst is yet to come, and we are far from the end of the longest night. I drew this piece as a promise – that even at the bleakest hour, we hold on to the hope that tomorrow, the sun will rise.

About Issa Cruz:
Issa Cruz is a graphic designer and project manager who juggles multiple jobs in both the local and international art scene. She is most fascinated by the synergy between humans and nature. This is evident in the things she creates, where she often strives to capture the feeling of vibing with the earth’s motions and absorbing the energy that ripples across it.
In this series, she explores the natural phenomena of the universe, from the sunset to the sunrise, and how it resonates deeply with the human experience. Her work is a mix of hand lettering and illustration, which she uses to heighten the beauty of the Filipino language. She dreams of one day pursuing art as a full-time career. Between deadlines, you can find her performing aerial art, stepping out under the sun, or taking a breath beneath the deep blue sea.
